Rules for selling used items

Updated on January 23, 2025. Update details will be marked in red.

Consignment jewelry requirements

1

Our store only consigns bracelets, 18k gold and diamond-set jewelry, braided cords, and beaded ornaments with natural Grade A jadeite (including Burmese and Guatemalan jade) or Hetian jade as the main stone.

These rules apply to individual players consigning their items. We also welcome large orders from other players to lend us their items for resale; please contact the shop owner separately.

2

Certificates: Items can be consigned with or without a certificate, but items with certificates usually sell faster, so we recommend providing the original certificate (or a photo) whenever possible. We may request a re-inspection of any items with questionable authenticity.

For items for which the seller cannot provide a certificate: items for which consignment applications were submitted after August 2025.

-- For items valued at $3,000 or more, we will by default send them for inspection and issue a certificate before listing them on the shelves. This process takes approximately 1-2 weeks and costs $80, which will be deducted from the refund after the goods are sold. If the item is not sold and the owner recalls it, in addition to postage, a certificate fee will be required to retrieve it.

--Items valued between $1000 and $3000 can be sold without certificates. However, if the buyer requests a certificate, we will automatically send it for processing before shipping. This cost is shared by the buyer and seller by default, unless the seller agrees to bear the full cost. In the event of returns or exchanges, this cost will be handled in the same way as postage and insurance fees.

--For items valued below US$1,000, the buyer is responsible for paying for the certificate by default. However, the seller can still choose to list the item after obtaining the certificate or bear the certificate fee after the transaction is completed.

3

Currently, Hetian jade cannot provide origin identification services. High-value Xinjiang mountain jade and pebble jade bracelets require certificates with origin information and purchase records; otherwise, they may be priced and listed as ordinary Hetian jade.

4

All consignment jewelry must be mailed or delivered to us in person. Postage is the responsibility of the seller. We will resolutely refuse to accept bracelets that are not properly packaged. Upon receiving the package, we will shake it. If the bracelet is loosely placed in the box, makes a rattling sound when shaken, or has other obvious signs of improper packaging, it may be returned.

Unsold items within three months of consignment (starting from the listing date) can be recalled free of charge. For certain high-end or niche items, or items with a listed price/purchase price higher than our suggested retail price, we may request an extension to six months, or a price reduction of at least 10% before recall. Early recall or removal from the listing, or if the owner finds a buyer independently, will incur a 50% listing fee, with a minimum of $60 per item.

5

Jewelry consigned to us can have its product link advertised on other platforms, but it cannot be re-consigned on other platforms/merchants, especially not at a more favorable price on other platforms/merchants at the same time.

6

By sending jewelry to us for consignment, the owner implies that Dangdang may use it for filming, promotional materials, commercial marketing, and other reasonable purposes. If the jewelry we send is identified as fake (such as B+C jade), we reserve the right to publicly release the information to help the community.

Consignment pricing rules
(The selling price refers to the price paid by the buyer for the goods, which is different from the actual price received by the seller. See below for details.)

1. Purchased by myself:

Goods purchased by the customer can be returned for consignment at the original price within 10 days of receipt. After 10 days, they can be consigned at up to 10% of the original price.

You can consign your own purchased items at the original price.

Returned goods must conform to the defect description at the time of sale and be properly returned in the same packaging as when sold; otherwise, any newly discovered defects upon receipt will be subject to an appropriate discount.

2. Purchased elsewhere:

Bracelets: For new bracelets purchased at the normal market price, we recommend listing them at around 70% to 85% of the market price/original purchase price. Unused bracelets can be listed at the original price (high-end bracelets over $10,000 can generally be sold close to the original price, but we generally do not accept listings above the original purchase price ).

For small items such as jadeite/Hetian jade pendants and rings, we typically list them at 70-80% of the price of new stock, and 85% of the price of used items to around the original price . (This excludes items with heavy gold inlays, as the gold and diamond portion is extremely difficult to value. If there is a record of the inlay, the inlaid portion can be valued separately at around 70% of the original price. If there is no record of the inlay, the value will be primarily based on the jade's worth, and the inlaid portion may be significantly discounted.)

If you cannot provide reliable purchase records, or if the original purchase price is significantly higher than the market price, please fill out the form first, provide certificates and photos/videos of the goods for a simple valuation, and then mail it to us. We will negotiate the selling price upon receiving the item. If the negotiation fails, the item will be returned, and the return shipping costs will be borne by the seller.

Our principle in negotiating prices is to respect the owner's expected value of the goods as much as possible, and not to impose a fixed price or "force" a price. However, we will provide a "reasonable selling price range" and a "suggested selling price." If you prefer to wait for a suitable buyer to get a good price, we will try our best to consider your opinion within the reasonable selling price range; if you want to sell quickly and get money, please refer to our suggested selling price.

3. Price reduction magnitude and frequency

To sell quickly, you may decide whether to lower the price; there is no lower limit. Price reductions must be spaced at least one week apart for the first reduction, at least two weeks apart for the second, and so on. Each price reduction must be at least 10%.

For individual products whose prices are significantly higher than our estimates, and whose prices remain high even after negotiation, if they are not sold within three months, they must undergo at least one mandatory 10% price reduction before they can be recalled free of charge.

Seller's Profits

We charge a small consignment service fee (our service fee is much lower than that of jewelry consignment in the United States, where the service fee is usually 20%-50% of the selling price). This fee is mainly used to cover the labor and material costs of authenticating, appraising, photographing, writing descriptions, listing, packaging, and shipping consigned items, allowing us to better serve the community and provide high-quality after-sales service.

Service fee schedule (effective January 1, 2026, based on the date Dangdang receives the payment):

1. Purchased from Dangdang:

Service fee = 4% of selling price

2. Purchased elsewhere:

Service fee = 9% of selling price

If you can provide at least 9 high-quality, clear product photos taken by the original seller or through other channels, plus a clear, high-quality video taken in natural light, and meet the store's listing standards, you can get a significant discount on the service fee!

In 2026, consignment service fees will be significantly reduced and simplified, with no distinction between bracelets and non-bracelets, and will be far lower than the 6% and 12% in 2025 , respectively. The minimum single-item service fee will also be eliminated . We accept all valuable, eligible pre-owned items, including some high-quality small items.

Settlement method

Store Credit (for in-store purchases):

0% settlement fee , instant payment after transaction, store credit allows you to enjoy normal points and other store benefits, and you can apply for withdrawal at any time.

Payout (withdrawal):

A new 10% withdrawal fee has been added, with a minimum withdrawal processing fee of USD 100 per transaction and a minimum withdrawal threshold of USD 400. Processing time is 14 days after a successful transaction .

A tiered list of withdrawal fees: (This calculates the total amount of cash that can be withdrawn when the shipper requests a withdrawal; it is not calculated for each individual item.)

0-399 is non-withdrawable.

400-1000 100USD

1001-3999 10%

4000-8000 8%

8000-12000 6%

12000 and above 700 USD

In cases where a buyer directly transfers money to the seller when a particular high-priced item is sold, the service fee plus withdrawal fee of 15% can be settled immediately for each item, without being charged twice.

US shippers can choose to receive payments via Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, or Wire. Canadian shippers can choose to receive payments via PayPal, International Wire (transaction fees at the shipper's expense), or RMB (return processing time may take more than two weeks).

Seller's Profit = Selling Price - Bank Fees - Postage, Insurance, Certificate & Accessories Costs - Consignment Service Fee - Settlement Processing Fee

In addition to the service fee, sellers also need to bear various other costs incurred during the transaction. For example, transactions placed through the website incur a bank transaction fee of 4%-5%. Transactions through other channels (offline Venmo, PayPal, etc.) incur bank transaction fees of 2% to 4% . These costs are borne by the buyer in the event of a failed transaction, so there's no need to worry. All costs are borne by the seller in the event of a successful transaction.

If the pendant is consigned without a chain, we will provide a 925 silver chain to the customer by default (unless the customer specifically requests not to have a chain), and the consignor will bear the cost of $10 per chain.

Responsibility and Risk

1. The seller decides whether to purchase insurance when the goods are shipped. In case of lost packages or other claims, the seller bears the risk; in case of damage due to improper packaging, we bear the loss. For returns by the buyer, the buyer bears the insurance cost. (If the package is delivered but stolen from the apartment or doorstep during tracking, it is the buyer's responsibility; if there is no scan during tracking, it indicates the package was stolen before shipping, and it is our seller's responsibility.) Currently, the insurance purchase rules in practice are roughly as follows:

For orders under $1000, insurance is not purchased by default unless specifically requested by the seller. Buyers are only responsible for return shipping costs, not insurance, upon return. Please note this!

---For items valued between $1000 and $3000, the default insurance coverage is 50% of the item's value, unless the seller specifies otherwise. The approximate cost is 1.5% of the insured value plus a $5 signing fee. For example, for an item valued at $2000, the insurance cost would be $35. This fee will be added to the shipping cost.

----For orders over $3000, please specify the insurance requirements when shipping.

In previous years, our lost package rate was approximately 2-3 items per year. Please assess the risk yourself.

2. Regarding product warranty, our store is not responsible for any quality issues with unused items except for descriptions of jade authenticity and flaws. All descriptions you provide when sending the product to us will be forwarded to you, and you will be responsible for those descriptions. The customer's return/exchange inspection period is 48 hours. After this period, the customer still has a 2-week appeal buffer. During this period, if the customer can prove that the product does not match the seller's description, they still have the right to appeal for a return and refund. Therefore, we have delayed the refund process until 2 weeks after confirmation of receipt. During this period, if a return is caused by the seller's false/inaccurate description, all losses, including round-trip shipping costs, will be borne by the seller. These descriptions include, but are not limited to, the following:

--- Are the certificates provided by the cargo owner genuine?

--- Is the setting made of 18k gold (please confirm whether it is 14k or another material)?

--- Is the diamond natural/laboratory/moissanite, etc.?

--- Is it Burmese material or hazardous material? (If you don't know, you can say you don't know/are unsure)

--- Description of Hetian jade's origin

--- Serious quality issues with inlays, cords, or beads.

--- Authenticity of purchase records

If the customer does not file a complaint within two weeks after the inspection period, the cargo owner can apply for cash withdrawal .

Consignment Steps

Agree to the above rules, fill in

One form can be filled out for each item. If you have a large quantity, simply contact customer service and send a group photo; you don't need to fill out a form.

We are currently experiencing a high volume of incoming goods and a shortage of manpower. Upon receiving the goods, we will complete the inventory, valuation, and contact the owners to negotiate prices as soon as possible. After pricing, the goods will be listed on the shelves approximately two to three weeks later . Please kindly remind us if we are unable to list the goods on time. Please also kindly remind us if we are unable to refund on time; please don't be angry with us!

The order of priority for listing unused items in this store is as follows:

Bracelets purchased from this store >

Other small items purchased from this store >

High-quality, affordable small bracelets with complete certificates and records; bracelets with original seller photos and videos >

Small, exquisite pendants/sets/ beads that are high-quality, affordable, and come with complete documentation .

High-end bangles without pictures or other information , bangles under $500 >

Other common small pendants, rings, earrings, and other inlaid or beaded items >

The items are not perfect, show obvious signs of wear, and are of questionable quality. We don't want to take them back, and they were sent with the order without a form, but we insisted on listing them together. They are various scraps and small items that are difficult to value.
